Hi girls,
I am really craving this soup my parents make but it has a lot of mint in it. And i can't tell from Google if eating dried herb mint is safe in pregnancy or not some sites say it's fine and other sites say it can relax the uterine muscles and cause contractions which can lead to miscarriage?? Can anyone shed some light on this?? I know it's Christmas Eve and there probably isn't anyone around but if anyone is out there i was hoping to make the soup tonight |

Mint tea is often recommended in early pregnancy to help common symptoms.
http://pregnancy.ygoy.com/2010/08/28/is-mi...ring-pregnancy/ Peppermint tea is largely made of dried mint. As far as I was aware mint was safe during pregnancy. I certainly had quite a bit of it in the form of tea and in other foods. |

Further investigations reveal that it's concentrated essential oil that can cause the contractions.
