With Christmas this week and the giving of gifts, I have made the theme this week "Something New". Don't limit it to gifts though, you may have opened a new carton of milk or a new tin of coffee etc. or have a new niece/nephew etc

Now ending NYE as usual due to lack of entries

The rules:
One photo per person which has been taken this week (starting TUESDAY). Everyone is welcome to join in. Competition will start Tuesday with submissions ending the following Monday.

If you wish, please note your rating after your image:

Rating 2 Amateur (learning about settings)
Rating 3 Hobbyist (have a good grasp of the theory)
Rating 4 Semi Pro (improved well beyond when I started)

All images must be up by next MONDAY at (9pm EDST, 8pm EST, 7.30pm CST, 6pm WST) for inclusion.

original.gif I got a new coffee machine from my IL's for Christmas. It has had quite the workout these past few days! I also got a new filter but thought using that was pushing the boundary of the theme. I will share it anyway as it is the last of my project 12, which was nature's beauty.

Peanut: Love the new wheels! original.gif

rbat: I had a similar pic (not as good as yours) because DH got a new coffee machine for Xmas too. I am in love with your photo at Henley, I was down there doing some pics yesterday too and it was such a beautiful day out original.gif

meh: Yay for the slip'n'slide! Your little man looks like he's having an absolute ball on it.

Here's mine, nothing spectacular as I am all out of time or enthusiasm for the camera right now - have spent every waking minute since Christmas lunch taking photos for people but I have some beautiful shots and we are all determined to make 2013 the year of the photos - the one thing we've learnt after losing Dad is the importance of having pictures with all of us in them. It's a good thing I have a tripod so I don't have to always be behind the camera.

These are my new additions to my home, my Mummy and Baby owls. No idea why I suddenly became infatuated with owls, but they appear to be creeping into every room of my house!

Owls

Edited to correct the link - temperamental!

Only 4 entries????? huh.gif blink.gif cry1.gif

Please, please, please guys!!! I want more so I'm going to keep this open until tomorrow night. I'll judge it somehow, even if I have to sneak off to the toilet with my ipad... tongue.gif

Will comment so far so I don't have to be in the bathroom too long tomorrow - they might think something is wrong with me.

Peanut - I'm intrigued as to how bug your new wheels are? I saw the image when you first uploaded it and didn't see the bears in the background (I thought they were kids initially). Love the composition and use of DOF

rbat - you lucky duck getting a coffee machine for Christmas, I'm so jealous. Hubby's buying one for us soon. The photo makes that coffee look so delicious which I'm sure it was. What filter did you get (and nice sunset too)

-*meh*- - Memories, memories, memories. We had one of those when we were kids and had so much fun. I bet it was a real hit

~Kee~In~Hawaii~ - I love owls too. Are these candle holders? love them original.gif

Now hoping for some new entries tomorrow...

The "wheels" are part of my DD's Christmas gift, the Sylvanian Families brand toy car and campervan! This might help with the size:

Sorry on my iphone so will be doing this quickly
6 or 7 awesome entries and so hard to choose.

Have commented on a few already

Jjbeanz - very cute rabbits, well done on a great photo

Raven74 - awww, I'd love to take baby photos like that. How do you get skin looking so creamy

Came down to Peanut and Raven74. Yesterday a woman in one of the groups I belong to on Facebook lost her 3mth old son and I've been feeling sad since hearing it. Raven74, your photo really lifted my mood. What a gorgeous baby and you're the winner this week. The photo even made my daughters heart melt and she said it had to win

Well done everyone and HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!!!!
