I've been thinking about this since it happened yesterday morning. I was in the kitchen making a cuppa, DD, 11 walked in and said "mum, I think you are the bravest person I know". I was gobsmacked, as I'm quite certain I haven't done anything remotely super heroish in recent times at least, and making a cuppa doesn't seem extraordinarily brave to me! I thanked her for the nice comment but asked her why she thought that. She said "you just are, you always have been", grabbed a nectarine and walked out. I know I should just accept the nice compliment and move on, but I can't stop thinking about what prompted it. And the timing was perfect, I have the flu and my ego did need a bit of a massage biggrin.gif

BTW - It's not true, I am in fact a supersized wimp, but somehow I've managed to fool the kid wink.gif

Awwww, that's so lovely! You've raised her well. It's so nice when kids notice positive things about their parents, and take the time to remark on them.

Bravery isn't about not being a wimp, it's about hiding the fact that you are. Most brave people don't think they're brave.

How lovely. I love compliments from children wub.gif

The other day my eldest said "I wrote a list to Santa but really I have the best present ever already because I was lucky enough to be born into the best, nicest family in the World" wub.gif

Very sweet.

From my 4 year old yesterday - "Mum, you look really skinny today" - said more in an observational way, but I'll take it as a compliment, not something I've heard for a while.

Putting her to bed the other day DD said to me 'you're lovely mummy'. Melts your heart doesn't it.
