I've made a tart. It's supposed to be glazed, but I have no apricot jam, and no time to go to the shops. Is there anything I could use instead?

Could you make a basic sugar syrup and brush it with that?

What sort of tart is it and what sort of glaze? You can use jelly as a layer for a fruit tart.

Yep, my advice was going to be sugar syrup. That or heat some honey in the microwave until runny and brush over.

Nope, you're sunk. Only thing to do is give it to me and make another one.

I'd also think most fruit tarts have that gelatine stuff on them so clear jelly would work.

Sugar syrup it is! It's a sour cherry and almond tart. The only jelly I have is strawberry, and I am not willing to degrade my lovely tart with artificial strawberry flavour and colouring.

Do you have any geletin? You could make a sugar syrup and add geletin then glaze with that.
