Presents from Santa/stocking stuffers, when do you put them under the tree?

I also don't get it having a European family that does Christmas Eve . Dh informs me that Santa presents go in the stocking (sack) during the night for them to find on Christmas morning. Also he is very insistent that they are not to be wrapped.

One each from Santa under the tree and then little things in a small stocking All of this is put under the tree/ in stocking on christmas Eve keeps santa alive... oh and I use different wrapping paper that the kids dont see

Santa sack or stockings get filled with wrapped presents, which I had left near the tree, but DH had near his bed. Any pressies that don't fit in a sack go under the tree (and appear on xmas eve, after kids in bed), and pressies from and to siblings/parents etc go under the tree, but earlier than xmas eve.
