Found out yesterday that we're having boy #2 (yay!!). But we have literally no idea for boys names. Nothing feels right, fits our "criteria" or we both love or even like!

I have two sorts of name styles that I really love, vintage/old fashioned and "unusual".

Some boys name DF and I either both like or one of us loves and the other doesn't include;

Nathaniel
Dashiell
Frederick
Charles/Charlie
Archer/Archie
Inigo
Roman
Louis

At the moment I'd say Dashiell is my favourite, but not sure if it really fits with our first son's name (not a huge issue, but I do like sibsets that go well) or is too "trendy". Same applies for Archer and Charles with the nicknames Archie and Charlie.

Any help of suggestions is greatly appreciated! Bubs will have two middle names like his big brother, they'll be family names like John, Spencer, Corey or possibly Frederick or Charles. TIA! original.gif

A lot of your taste is similar to mine, I love Leopold. I particularly love Inigo from your list. One of my faves that you might like - Casimir. My son's name is Rafael, I think Raphael would be great with Leopold. Others you might like - Dominic, Horatio, Rufus, Julian/Julius, Gilbert, Theodore, Vincent.

Ohh I love Casimir, will suggest it to DF original.gif
Rafael/Raphael (one of my favourites), Dominic, Rufus, Julian and Gilbert have all been vetoed. Theodore and Vincent are close family members. Not too keen on Horatio
Great suggestions thank you!

Nathaniel and Dashiell were my favourites of yours.

Roman I'm not that into but I like Ronan, Roland, and Reuben?

Dashiell John Spencer sounds good to me, as does Nathaniel John Spencer.

Other names that are old-fashioned and/or unusual:
Alaric, Alfred, Patrick, Padraig/Padraic - Frederick put me in mind of these.

Archie short for Arthur - I've known men who used this. I find Arthur more classic than Archer but not as clunky as Archibald.

Gabriel, Immanuel, Hadriel - Assorted ends-in-el like Nathaniel names. I do like Raphael too. Daniel seems more classic to me than Dashiell (could be pure ethnic bias there) but also kinda... standard. Kemuel, Raziel, Zuriel, etc. are probably too far the other way though.

I would pick Frederick or Louis from your list .

Louis Charles Spencer or Frederick Spencer Charles.

I also second Bel Rowley's suggestions of Raphael and Julius.

Others:

Jolyon
Florian
Gabriel
Emmanuel
Percival
Peregrine
Tobias
Abraham
Aristide
Octavian
Augustine/Augustus
Balthasar
Thaddeus
Hadrian
Valentine
Hercules
Ferdinand
Axel
Abel
Cadel

Great ideas thanks guys! Will have to go through them all with DF original.gif
Louis I love, pronounced lou-ee, however as Leopold gets Leo I thought Leo and Louis was a bit matchy? Not sure

In a similar vein to Inigo I like Ignatius as well.

la di dah I've never heard of Archie from Arthur, I quite like that as I'm not a fan of Artie for some reason

Yeah, I don't like Art/Artie either, but I like Archie and Ari, and I've heard those before, at least where I'm from. original.gif
