Today's challenge, should you accept it, is to help me come up with a gift for my SDs boyfriend, who may or may not be coming to us for Christmas.

I have only met him once, briefly, and have no idea what he likes, so it has to be something fairly generic.

DH said grab him something like a cologne/body wash set, so if he does not end up coming, he (DH) can just use it. I thought maybe car cleaning stuff (I know he has a car).

Is there anything else anyone can suggest that a young man would probably like, that my DH can also use - so not a hip hop CD or anything!

ETA: just realised I should have added his age - he's 20

Something edible. Or booze.

If you've only ever met him once I don't think you really need to give him a present at all.

I'm sure your husband's daughter is the only reason he would be dropping by, and I'm sure SHE has got him a present.

I couldn't agree more - I don't think we need to get him anything either, but the DH/SD relationship has been a bit tricky of late, and I think DH is keen to do as many nice things as possible to make them both feel welcome. (I actually think they won't even come, and my DH is going to have his heart broken again, but that's a whole other thread!)

sad.gif I hope that's not the case. I think it's lovely that he wants to include him...I think both of your suggestions are great ones.

I also immediately thought itunes/JB Hifi voucher or movie card but the car cleaning kit is a bit more thoughtful. Booze for a 20yr old too will never go to waste. Or one of those little esky/cooler bags on wheels?
