Is that from Star Trek? If so, they pronounce it Bah-lana with a very short 'a' sound at the start. Almost like you're saying banana with an L.

Yes its from Star Trek Voyager, the character is half-Klingon. Its actually a really nice name and pronounced bel-arna.
