Just wondering if anyone else is feeling the same way. I am 17w pg after 2 m/c over the last year and a bit. The furthest I've made it before is 11w so I'm well and truly beyond that. I have just had a slump in confidence this week - next scan is coming up and I have this terrible feeling that all might not be well. I have been doing so well but thought I felt a few early flutters last week then nothing this week so I wonder whether that might have brought it on.

Just wondering how other people have coped between appointments?

You are over the riskiest time. Your baby is probably just having a quiet week. But if you are really worried, go to the emergency room and request a scan. But go during the day, as there will be less of a wait and will be more likely to sneak you in. You'll be waiting for hours if you go in the evening.

Congrats ausbokkie! Know how you feel.

I've taken each day as it came. 8 weeks was the furthest I'd gotten previously and though I was relieved to make it past that this time, the nerves never really went away until well into the second trimester for me.

Things that helped me were:
- remembering that I'd survived 3 previous losses, maybe even thrived and that if it was not meant to be, I would still cope
- some relaxation / meditation using the circle and bloom podcasts
- reminding myself of the stats that the further the pregnancy progressed, the lower the risk of loss given that all my scans this time were great
- writing down affirmations and keeping them at hand
- trying to do lots of non baby centred things with DH

I also didn't buy any baby things until after the 19 week scan and even then paced myself. That way I had something to buy after each appt with my obs.

Best of luck and look forward to hearing about you bebe in the new year!

i lost my DS at 18.5 weeks last year. this pregnancy has been horrible. so far quite problem free but i hang out for the doc appointments and scans to get me through. this week i found out i have feet swelling and high than normal blood pressure. testing for protein on friday to check for PE. once you have experienced a loss it is so hard just to relax and enjoy the pregnancy. i have kept myself busy with work but now school is finished ( i am a teacher) it is marking down weeks on the calender until good friday ( my due date!)
good luck OP

Thank you for the responses. akkiandmalli you've made me freak out a bit! I hope this pregnancy goes well for you. PCM so happy to see that you're nearly there with your pregnancy! All the very best wishes for the coming days/weeks for you. The affirmations and meditation podcasts are a great idea - I actually did that this time while ttc and it really helped so I will get out the ipod again i think.
