OK, I'm a bit thick..., booking dates

If you knew me IRL you would laugh, I'm normally such an bright organised person. But I can't for the life of me figure out this-if we book a holiday house for the 20th to the 27th of December...does that mean we "check out" on the 27th or that the 27th is the last night we are there?

But if you book a room for 1 night eg the 25th - you check out on the 26th so I would say that the 27th is the last night you stay and would check out on the 28th.

I would say you are checking out on 27th. That's means you re staying 7 nights... does that seem right to you?

Check out 27th. For the one night example, you check in on the 25 and check out on the 26th. 26 - 25 = 1 night. 27 - 20 = 7 nights.

I would 'phone the place you are going to and ask them. I had to do that the last time I went to Tasmania because I couldn't figure it out either. A quick 'phone call and it was all clear.

Usually when booking somewhere it actually asks for check in and departure dates. Or if you put how many nights you want it will say in the booking request the check in/ check out dates. Eta ... If it says 20th - 27th then you would check out on the 27th. At least that is how it has always been for me. This post has been edited by Moffetta: 19/12/2012, 04:47 PM

No not thick at all a fair question! Once I accidently booked my flight home one day after the accommodation ended because of the same thing
