Hi all

We'll be moving back to Adelaide early next year after living interstate for 12 years. We've had our name down on childcare waiting lists for our two DDs (3yrs and 1yr old) for over six months, and nothing yet. I know it's tough to get in so I'm just keeping fingers crossed and trying not to stress yet.

Has anyone got any feedback on the Treetops ELCs? We are specifically looking at the one in Stepney, but I know they have a couple of others?

We have our name down on about 7 waiting lists in CBD and inner Eastern areas where we'll be living. So I'm also open to any other feedback on centres around there if anyone has any - good or bad. Feel free to PM me if you'd prefer.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Just pm'd you. I dont think there are many EB'ers who live in this part of town so you might not get many responses.

My DD is starting at the Stepney Tree Tops in January. We also had our name down at the St Peters Community one on the same street but didn't get in (apparently they were already struggling to place siblings who have priority).

I actually preferred Tree Tops when we visited the Carers were very interactive with the babies (DD will begin in baby room) and friendly, the other place didn't have that feel to me. The way they structure the day seemed really good to me but I have no previous experience in this area.

We only had our name down for about 4 months but called regularly to enquire.. I knew the director was doing allocations in November and rang then and she said she will fit us in.

The only downside, is that the outdoor area is artificial grass with sails for shade (which is fine), the St Peters place outdoor area was huge with lots of trees, natural shade etc but the kids can't go outside when it's too hot or raining anyway.

So I would keep phoning every couple of weeks. Good Luck!!

Thanks. I have been ringing and hassling. The St Peters Community one told me the same thing. Which means they're in high demand. Tree Tops were a bit vague on how they do their placements, so I might give them another call and hassle a bit more. Their location is certainly going to be the most convenient for us. Fingers crossed!

Thanks again.

My DF works close by so he also dropped in on them a few times.... I think you can safely assume we annoyed the crap out of them!!

Perhaps do the same if you are going to be in town before you move.

So after annoying them a lot over Christmas and New Year we've been offered spots at Treetops for both girls. It just annoys me that childcare seems to work on the basis of speaking to the right person on the right day and if they like the sound of your voice then magically a cancellation has happened and they can fit you in! Oh well. Relieved that we have a place. I hope they're good. So I might be meeting you Lucy's mum. I'll have one in the babies room too!
