I have done a search and I cannot find the yoghurt thread (if there ever was one). I know there is a *thing* on EB about yoghurt (and sultanas and I can't remember the rest).

Without stirring up a hornet's nest, can someone please enlighten me: what is wrong with yoghurt? Are we talking Yogo here or the all-natural stuff or... Please, before they come and take my children away!

I am fascinated by this one too as I also missed it. I thought I was this amazing mother for having yogurt and fruit for dessert rather than icecream. *Sigh*

Fruit?! You know that's full of sugar and will make your children fat, don't you? It's almost as bad as dried fruit. Actually, dried fruit is so bad I'm not sure why EB hasn't auto-censored it yet.

Thanks AnnBB, now that you've put it there, I do remember something about it.... The fact that I eat 6 in one sitting (most days) I still think is better than loading up on a sugary crapola cereal every day

gahhhh! isnt it painful?! dontcha know that unless your kids are feasting on everything but air, they will all get cancer or diabetes and die? ( actually if you live where i live, the air is probably more likey to kill you than yoghurt or weet bix.)

speaking of yoghurt, do the flavoured easiyo ones have too much sugar? alternatively we do the greek yoghurt thing with honey too ( and[no sugar]- baked apple n cinnamon mmm) also not wanting to spark controversy.
btw, what is with easiyo spelling yoghurt incorrectly? they spell it as yogurt. is it an american thing, like colour/color? gives me a slight case of the irrits whenever i see it. actually so does the word "irrits". carry on!

I think they're pretty similar to shop bought yoghurt - at least, my DH & son eat them happily, which means they must be pretty sweet But, you can use half an easiyo sachet in UHT milk instead of water, or in water & just add 3/4 cup powdered milk, and it turns out just as well, but not so sweet (and you save $$$). I am gradually weaning my son down to this level of sweet - my girls will eat it plain and unsweetened, but not him!

Yeah, it's the American spelling.
