I just paid $8.50 for a ham & cheese croissant and a cafe. I was starving and still had shopping to do. The cafe was close by and not too long to wait but wow! I was flabbergasted! ohmy.gif

What about you?

I just paid $40 for a potted plant that I know would be about $15 if I was anywhere near the city. I saw the same plants in Bunnings last week.

I did it because it's a new local business, I've known the owner forever, and I really wanted the plant. I told him it was stupidly expensive though.

I nearly just paid close to $100 for two sets of sylvanian families on amazon, just to get them delivered by Christmas, but then my common sense kicked in, and I thought, my 3 year olds don't quite get Christmas yet anyway, what does it matter if I get them a week late?

Ended up paying $40, which is slightly less than the actual cost of them anyway. And who knows, maybe they will get here in time anyway.

I paid $15 to get a taxi to my XDP's place a few weeks back. It's not a lot of money I know, but considering he only lives a few streets away I was shocked!

DH & I paid $35 each for a steak for lunch.

It wouldn't have been so bad, except it was overcooked & increadibly salty...wont be going back to that restaurant any time soon.

I've had to do that many times.

Today I nearly paid $70 for a speciality book thinking it would be easier and cheaper to get it from Australia than to pay for postage from the UK, but it was only $35 including postage from the actual company.

$8.50 is about normal for a ham and cheese croissant where I work, a sandwich costs $10 and a coffee is $4.

For lunch today I had a measly salad that was $10 and then had to hit the vending machine an hour later because I was starving. In the new year I am going to get organised and take my lunch in again, will save a fortune.

Oh and all day parking is $18, hardly worth working...

$22.50 for 2 medium cokes and a popcorn at the movies. Reminded me why I only go about once a year!
