I had my dating scan today at 7 weeks (IVF so dates are correct) saw a HB if 139 which has to be positive however the measurements were at 6 weeks. She was having trouble getting to it as it was up high.
I guess I'm after a bit of reassurance that a HB is a good sign. |

A heartbeat is a very good sign and 139 is a strong heartbeat!
I could've written your post a few months back. Had a scan at what I was sure to be at least 6 weeks 5 days and baby only measured 5 weeks 6 days but had a good heartbeat of around 120. I was concerned because with the dates they gave me it would've had to have been an immaculate conception! Ended up going for a follow up scan 8 days later and baby was measuring 7 weeks 5 days - almost spot on for my dates. I think in the early days the baby is so tiny that being out by a mm in measurements can mean a difference of several days. 12 week and 20 week scan were also in line with my dates and I'm now 24 weeks. I would totally avoid the early scan next time and just wait for the 12 week one - caused me lots of unnecessary stress! |

Yes too much stress. I agree they are so super tiny at the moment and she was pretty haphazard with the whole thing.

hi Bumblebee! I had a dating scan with DD at 7 weeks and she measured 6 +1. At 12 week scan, she was perfect.
Perhaps if it would put your mind at ease, go back and have another scan in a week or so like sunnygirl did so you can be reassured by a growing bubba? |

I think they all develop at different rates. Some of my measurements at my 20 week scan put me within a range bracket between 17-22 weeks. Some of the charts I got placed her on the average line in most (on the smaller end), except one she was a bit behind on. None of the doctors seem concerned about it. I was only really small when I was born, as was my mum and my sister, so maybe she will be the same. I'm not sure.

Another IVFer here....
With this current pregnacy i had my first scan at 6w5d and was measuring 5w6d, so 6 days behind. Second scan was at 8w3d and was measuring 8w1d, and now i just had a 34w scan and measuring average for 34weeks HB is a good sign. With DD now 3 (IVF aswell) was spot on for dates but her first scan was at 7w5d so a bit later on. Good luck. spottydog. |
