I haven't mastered a house... But I made GF gingerbread biscuits yesterday and they turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself....

I never had any luck with the houses when they weren't gluten free! I'm not game to try a GF one!!!!!!

I have a cutter set that I purchased last year and I just made up the recipe from the box and substituted the self raising and plain flour with gluten free self raising and gluten free plain flour. The recipe says to sift the dry ingredients and I sift them 3 times to aerate the mixture and to make it lighter. The mixture tasted nice last year my problem was the royal icing to hold it together as I also need to make the house egg free for DS1 and the royal icing just would not set hard. I have done some more googling and found another recipe for the royal icing so I am hoping it works on the weekend.

Last year the house looked like it barely survived an earthquake, although DS1 had heaps of fun "helping" and it tasted nice.

I have recently started using casalare brand of gluten free flour as I have found that it has the best consistency, it was recommended in a gluten free cooking class I did.

I say have a go even if you make a small one on a first attempt.

You can buy them online if you want
