THE Federal Government is calling on Australians to submit their ideas and priorities for next year's budget.
Treasurer Wayne Swan on Sunday invited individuals, families, businesses and community groups to make submissions on the 2013-14 budget.
"For the 2012-13 budget, I received over 270 submissions which gave me a really valuable insight into the challenges and opportunities facing individuals, businesses and other groups from right across our community," the treasurer said in a statement.
"I encourage Australians to have their say by submitting their ideas for the 2013-14 budget because the views contained in these submissions are a vital part of the development of government policies."
Submissions should be sent to Treasury's Budget Policy Division or emailed to prebudgetsubs@treasury.gov.au no later than January 31.
The budget will be handed down on May 11.
Submissions should be forwarded to the address below:
Budget Policy Division
Department of the Treasury
Langton Crescent
PARKES ACT 2600
Or email to: prebudgetsubs@treasury.gov.au

Train your dog, it's worth it!
I also strongly suggest that if you want more spending in one area, that you suggest where cuts can be made to others, or make suggestions about how to raise the $$$ to cover your wish list. Everything with a price tag has to be paid for, and this government has ISHHEWS about deficits. wink.gif

Say whatever you like, Wayne Swan will listen to nobody because don't you know, he knows best!

I can just imagine him now, sitting in his office have a good laugh over the suggestions

Great idea Wayne. I'm sure there's group of public servants right now burning you in effigy for this little exercise. If you can't do the Treasurer's job then hand it over to someone who can. rolleyes.gif

You can make a submission to government on any policy issue. This is not a new initiative for this particular budget.

Um, I've worked on submissions for the past 10 years or more. Its been on the current and past Treasurer's page every year since I can remember (or at least started working on subs).
