DD (7 months) has in the last week started a funny night screaming session which I just can't put my finger on what it is. She has generally been a good night sleeper, wakes once generally but a quick dummy back in and she has been happy to get through until the morning for the last couple of months. But last week she has started doing a night scream about 3 hours after she has been in bed and is really hard to resettle but still very sleepy. We have been away which maybe part of the issue, maybe she got scared that she wasn't in her own cot but she has continued it for the last 2 nights since being home.

Has anyone else found that? I am noticing she is very clingy to me which I know can happen around this age but even when I pick her up she will still keep going for a period and seems confused which I think is her being very tired. Never had it with DS so not sure what to make of it.

Mine is 7 1/2 months and has done the same thing the last few nights. she has slept through since 6 months. She cut her first tooth yesterday. could it be teething pain?

Was going to suggest teething pain too. I've got a brilliant sleeper who's had two episodes like this while cutting teeth.

I was thinking teeth too, pain of some kind to rouse her out of her sleep.

When DS is like that, it's always about either teeth or a high temperature.

Same here. DD has had this the last few nights after being a much better sleeper since sleep school at 6 months. I give neurofen as I think it helps better with teething pain (and doesn't taste as foul). When they are crying in their sleep, I always assume it is teething or some other kind of pain.

Hope things improve!

Thanks ladies for the reply, yes I agree it's definitely teething pain - her mouth is like a fountain at the moment full of constant dribble.

Bubzillaiscoming - agree with the Nurophen we gave it to her last night when she woke again screaming the house down and she then slept from 10pm until 7am (one happy mummy woke this morning very refreshed original.gif )

Thanks again, how quickly you forget all of these things!!!
