I think I have some type of food issue. I never eat breakfast, rarely can stomach lunch, and only eat dinner if I'm making it for the family (which is most nights, but sometimes half of them are out, and the others have noodles or spaghetti on toast so I don't bother)

I do snack at night when I study or watch TV.

But, yesterday I was feeling kinda ick, so I thought about what I'd eaten, and in three days I had eaten; one bread size pizza, half a chicken sandwich, a bowl of noodles, a half a bag of chips and two chocolate bars.

Does anyone have similar issues? I just don't get hungry, and I usually feel my best at the furthest time after a meal before the next one. I usually feel tired and unmotivated after eating. How can I up my appetite?

I'd forget about upping it at this point, and just concentrate on eating healthy food when you are hungry.

You are running all sorts of health risks eating like that (diabetes, bowel cancer etc) and the sugar lows and highs would be playing havoc with your moods. You're probably dehydrated as well as we get a lot of water from fruits and veg.

Would it help to think of food as fuel for the healthy running of your body, not as something you need to feel excited or emotional about in any way. Just like you put fuel, oil etc in the car regularly, you need to take in a certain amount of healthy food every 5 hours or so.

I was like this (and still am to a degree). I had an allergy test and it turns out I have a sensitivity to preservatives and additives added to processed foods. If I consume pre packaged foods I feel sluggish afterwards (even fresh bread that has 201 added does this). I try to eat mostly fresh foods but unfortunately it is hard to avoid.

Are you getting enough vitamin d?

I'm going to say its your diet. When I eat those kinds of foods I'm the same. Lethargic, but not all that hungry either.

I've gone dairy free this year, and these days I actually wake up starving. In the past its been coffee and I might get hungry at about 11. Now I have to eat before I have my cup of tea (can no longer handle coffee).

eta. and I no longer suffer from 3.30-itis or whatever they call it.

I have to take Calcium, Vitamin D, and Magnesium every day.

Usually what I eat each day is one healthy meal that includes many vegetables, pasta/rice meat/chicken etc. That's a usual day. The example I gave above was because it's been so busy lately, that half the family are out at dinner time, and I honestly forgot about feeding myself until I felt faint. Usually cooking dinner reminds me!

Your lack of eating has most likely slowed your metabolism right down, that's why you're not feeling hungry. You need to start eating frequently, having some fresh fruit and protein like nuts every couple of hours.

I'm the same. I loathe breakfast & lunch. I eat them. It only because I should.

I'm fine with dinner though. Love that. I think with me I just find breakfast & lunch boring.

I'm 6kg underweight & was told by my gym instructor to up my intake ti 2,500 calories a day. I tried for a couple of days & was miserable. I was beginning to hate eating. Do now u just stick to my 3 meals a day (two of which I don't want). I take vitamins & often have either a protein shake, banana smoothie or Up & Go just to get more calories in.

I'm similar. Can you find good snacks so at least what you do eat is at least a bit healthy? I've found that any required preparation would be enough to turn off what little desire I had, so I now keep easy to grab, relatively healthy stuff and have a list of foods to choose from - I make myself have breakfast, lunch and dinner and without the list I would just give up making a decision and wait til the next meal time to consider eating again.
