I've done some googling and I can't find anything but I thought I'd ask the eb experts just in case.

DS 10 is getting an ipod for his birthday and my life would be so much easier if I can disable games but leave the music accessible. I'm not talking about internet games as he'd need the wifi password for that anyway.

Does anyone know if this is possible.

Thank you

Lorraine

So you are buying him an iPod but you only want it for music is that right? If so than you would just need to stop him from downloading apps which I think you can do in settings. I guess though why you would want to spend the money on what is essentially an MP3 playing when you could just buy one of those for a lot less money.

Rather inclined to giggle. Doesn't put things away.
The easiest way would be to not download any games in the first place. My DD always needs to get me to enter our ITunes/App store password so I only download games I approve of.

But yes, I agree with cward, an expensive item to just use as an MP3 player.

Agree too, DS has an ipod which has games on it, but as he doesn't (and won't) know my itunes/app password he can't download anything without asking me. He also knows he doesn't play the games unless he asked me first. As his is a older style he usually using mine to play games anyway, because they won't go on his.

Sorry I want him to be able to play games sometimes but not at bedtime for example when I do want him to be able to listen to music.

Nope, not possible.

You would just have to do some sort of rule. Like you can play music only and if you play games then its gone for the night. It would be hard though because if you caught him touching it he could try and say he was just changing a song or something. Unless maybe you made a rule of playlist only and no touching it or changing songs etc.

Have a rule about iPods in a basket on the bench at night and burn him a CD.
