I am booked in next week for a ceasarian and was wondering what everyone else did on the morning/day before the surgery to relax?

At the moment I have a million things I want to do either the day before or morning of - wash the sheets & towels, make sure washings up to date, mop the floors, tidy the kids rooms etc.... I know I should be relaxing but I don't think I'll be able to relax until all the chores are done.

What where/are your plans?

I put my favourite cd in my cd player. Put my headphones on and then just listened to the music. Had a chat to the anaesthetist, which was brilliant as he was able to put me even more at ease about what would happen if the spinal didn't work etc.

I plan to xplain again to DD that she'll be able to come and see her little sister later in the day and then wander off to the hospital, probably after chucking a tons of last minute things into my bag.

I bought a load of celebrity trash mags to read while waiting to go in.
Nothing like reading about a Kardashian dilemma or Nicky Menaj's wardrobe malfunction to take your mind off your impending surgery.
I can't concentrate on a book if I'm waiting to go in somewhere.

I also spent the few days leading up to the big day cleaning and cooking. Although DP is perfectly capable of feeding DD and himself and pushing the vacuum around, I wanted it done properly. I'm a fusspot like that.

Good luck!

I was already in hospital when waiting for my section with DD2 but it went surprisingly quickly.

I distracted myself by watching the "baby" tv and playing Sims3 on my 3DS

Lucky I was first on the list.
