Hi girls! I hope you're all well! I have been doing lots of reading that Paracetemol is ok during pregnancy as long as you follow the allowed dosage. Was just hoping for a bit of reassurance as I am in a world of pain with my neck and ribs (think I have pinched nerves) where breathing is excruciating and am almost past the point of coping without painkillers.

Please, please let me know your thougths!!

Thanks so much in advance - I hope everyone has lovely weekends original.gif

Panadol is fine but not nurofen.

Just double check on the back of the pack just in case.

Im "one of those mothers" and dont like takiing anything to begin with but I have taken panadol from time to time during my pregnancy.

Thanks Poppy - this is my first baby, I am almost 8 weeks along and I am really trying to hold it out - as I am the same! I am going to the point of drinking decaf tea so I really don't want to be taking anything at all!! Hmmmm so hard!

Thanks again!

I'm not in this group, but wanted to say paracetamol is an A class drug (safe for pregnancy, lower the class the less the risk), but like everything whether you're pregnant or not you should always follow the dosage directions, overdosing on paracetamol causes liver damage wink.gif

Yes Panadol is fine! Its nurofen that is not good for the baby. I was told by my dr that it can prematurely close the hole in babies heart. Thats later in pregnancy but best to not risk anything really.
I hope your ok hun and your pain eases soon!

It's fine as long as you don't exceed the maximum dose in 24 hours and don't use it for days on end.

Last week I had migraine for three days, finally broke down and took panadol. But apparently Panadine is fine too, both class A drugs. Checked with mate who is a chemist. So you should fine if you don't go overboard. However if breathing hurts I'd call my doc or midwife just to be on safe side....

Hope you start to feel better!
