We're down to the three week mark (if you go by the due date) for the impending arrival of our first.

I've decided that I will spend the last three weeks being incredibly self indulgent and enjoying the time I have to be frivolous and spontaneous and not having to share.

So far all I can come up with is taking myself out to lunch, and rolling around the couch watching movie marathons whilst eating chips and dip.

What things did you do for yourself or wish you had done before the arrival of your first child?

Go to the movies... over 3 years later and it is still something I rarely get a chance to do! Maybe a pedicure or manicure as they will be the last things on your mind for a few months once bub arrives probably. Sleep will definitely be prioritised! original.gif

Get your hair cut, nails done and a massage.... if your funds extend that far. Read a book or even a magazine and enjoy doing stuff by yourself... for the last time... ever.

Get your hair done, massage, all the pamper things that you wont get time for in the first few months of the birth original.gif

Also cook yourself up some meals for the freezer.

Yes, yes, yes to the sleep!

Also - enjoy eating meals in a leisurely manner, uninterrupted and still hot.

Solo shopping without feeding times, pooey nappies or whiny toddlers to think about.

Have conversations with people - on the phone, face to face, whatever... enjoy being able to talk without crying (early stages) or someone calling "Mummy Mummy MUMMMMMMY" the second you pick pick up the phone.

Shower or bathe whenever you like and for however long you want. The put on clean clothes knowing they will probably stay clean and not be puked or pooed on original.gif

Enjoy the serenity wink.gif

Congratulations! We must be due around the same time, I've got around 3 weeks to go with number 3.

I'd get a haircut and any waxing etc you want to get done now - seriously hard to do with a newborn!
I second the suggestion for sleep, and lots of it. Cannot overstate this one.
Basically anyting practical that you're thinking "I'll do that when after the baby comes", DO IT NOW, or better still ask DH or others to do it!
Then put your feet up, let others do anything they offer to do. That goes for after bub arrives too.
Congratulations, and all the best for a smooth and uncomplicated birth.
