I've just purchased an IPad, and we will be taking a long haul flight next week with our 18month old DD. I'm looking for suggestions for good toddler apps and/or where to download things for her to play with/view on the plane.
Any suggestions? |

I only bought our iPad last so I'm not much help but will be keeping an eye on the thread!!
I did come across this FB page though. They post kids apps that are usually paid but for a limited time they are available for free. http://www.facebook.com/smartappsforkids?fref=ts |

The Disneyland Explorer app is brilliant, my son loves it. There is another app he uses to draw, but I am not sure of the name of it (will check when I get home).

Ok, I have checked my ipad and the app is called Preschool - it has all different sections such as drawing, games, maths, reading and writing.

Great idea! Did the same thing for my DD for a flight.
Try the fisher price apps. Just type in "fisher price" |

DD1 (2 years) loves:
Rocket speller app The Hungry Caterpillar app Sandra Boynton's The Going to Bed app ABC for kids app Peekaboo barn (we have this in iPhone not sure if it's also available for iPad) Mostly though she loves episodes of bananas in pyjamas that DH has saved on there. I reckon if we were to fly long haul today, she would watch the three or four episodes over and over!! DD is a bit of a gadget junkie and it always results in a bit of a tantrum when we take the phone or iPad away, so we would have to save pulling these out on a flight as our last resort! |
