Mrs Doyle
It's my Dad's 60th birthday on Christmas Day, and DH and i have decided to buy him a ticket to Bathurst later this year. Dh will also get a ticket for his birthday in Jan, so they can go together.

The tickets aren't on sale yet, so i have nothing physical to give him. I thought about writing something funny in a card or something, but my brain is not cooperating!

Does anyone have any ideas on how i can give my Dad his not-yet-existant present??

I make up my own vouchers using images from google or scanning in a drawing from the kids then print them onto photo paper so they look a bit special.

We do this sort of thing frequently in our family by making a card with a relevant graphic. So it could be a print out of Mt Panorama or something with the dates on the front. You could have words or he just guesses. You could put said card in fancy packed box or lots of layers pass-the-parcel style. Or just in a carefully decorated (eg with appropriate cars, flags etc) envelope (the kids could do this?).

For my DHs birthday, I printed a relevant pic, glued it to card, then cut it up as a jigsaw that he had to put together.

Are you sure the tickets aren't on sale yet? I just clicked most of the way through purchase pretending to buy them on ticketek. unsure.gif
