Aaah, I have foolishly told my daughter we're going to the movies this morning but realised I read the cinema times incorrectly and Madagascar 3 is not showing until tomorrow.

The only candidate today is Rise of the Guardians. I've done a bit of research and it seems that it may be a bit scary for her but others have successfully taken 3 year olds.

Has anyone seen it and have any advice?

Thanks!

I would not recommend it for a 3yo. Even a four year old would have trouble understanding the story line and for a 3yo would go over head!
Can you see Madagascar 3 instead?
I had doubts for my 10yo to see it until I saw the reviews. It is rated PG and does have scary scenes.

Oh and she has actually been to see Madagascar 3 before - and was a little scared of the French police woman...

Thanks for the advice. In my fantasy world, someone would say 'sure, it's fine for a 3 year old!'.

I thought Madagascar 3 was on today but it is actually tomorrow - hence the broken promise original.gif

swimming in a sea of chocolate! :)
My 7yo got scared just watching the previews in the last holidays so no, I wouldn't be taking a 3yo.

He is braver now apparently and wants to see it! lol

I think it would be too scary for a 3 year old. My six year old wasn't scared, but he did cry during the sad bit. Great movie though!

My 4 year old and 6 year old were fine in it, but it does have what they call the bogey man (pitch black). So for a sensitive child it could be quite scary with the dreams being turned to nightmares with scary horses and so on.

Living as expat again!
Too young for 3yo, Jude Law's character (forgot the name) is really scary!

Such a wonderful movie though

My almost 4.5 yr old saw it yesterday and spend most of the movie on my knee saying he was scared. My 6 yr old was only a little scared - but liked it.

He did spend the 2nd half of the movie sitting on the floor watching it inbetween the gaps of the two chairs in front of him.
