Hi, I'm nearly 19 weeks pg with twins and am still having morning sickness and my front teeth have become slightly loose. I don't have a gum infection although they have retracted slightly. Has anyone lost a tooth because of twin pregnancy or had the same experience with a positive outcome?
I'm planning on going to the dentist but can't really think of how they can help. One of my biggest fears is losing a tooth ![]() Any advice or similar stories would be more than welcome. |

You may have bone loss, a dentist can probe your gum to see if the bone has started going.
Pregnancy does not cause tooth loss but as ligaments loosen etc any existing problems can be made worse and dental care is very important. I almost lost my 4 front teeth when a problem was discovered in my 3rd pregnancy. Very scary but so far with lots of work I have kept them. It turned out I had severe periodontal disease, I had no idea and it had never been noticed by my dentist! |

Am biting the bullet (so to speak) and going to see the dentist on Tuesday for a check up and clean. I read that because everything is loosening up from the hormones your teeth can get loose and then tighten up after bub is born and because its twins i have double the hormones. I'm hoping that's all it is *fingers crossed*
