Drink lots of water. A big part of a hang over is the dehydration.

In years gone by the hangover cure I used to swear by was simply the rule of drink something sweet (such as cordial) and eat something salty (such as vegemite toast or greasy fry-up depending on what you fancy).

This works on the principle of replacing fluids and electrolytes. You generally feel better after you've eaten something as well.

Obviously you need to rehydrate so get stuck into the cordial!

Also for next time drink 2 large glasses of water before bed as a somewhat preventative measure! I always found this helped hugely...

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!

What fresh hell is this?
Plain dry saladas and soda with a small amount of cordial works best for me.

Along with repeating "this too will pass" at frequent intervals wink.gif

Thank you LucyE, SensibleSis and JingleBob! Have a large glass of dry ginger ale which is making me feel somewhat revived...

And thanks too for the sympathy...I don't deserve it! One would think at my age I would know when enough is enough!

Lots of Vitamin B. I have as much vegemite as I can stomach - usually make a drink out of a huge teaspoon of it (big teaspoon of vegemite and pour hot water over it, drink) and it always makes me feel a heap better. Otherwise Berroca works well as it has the vitamin B.

Our IT consultant's cure.

For every glass of alcohol you have consumed, drink 1 glass of water when you get home & take 2 pain killers - then go to bed. Each time you get up to go to the toilet have another glass of water & take another 2 painkillers - up to the max.

He reckons it works every time - you wake up tired, but not hung-over.

tthumbs.gif That's about all I can do! I sip on very very cold iced water, but when I'm hungover NOTHING will stay in my stomach! Even a mouthful of water will not stay down until the next night! Hence why I rarely drink too much these days, I can't stand it!!

Good luck OP!
