I am in the "Aaaaaaaaaaaaagh!" end of Christmas shopping. It was also my nephew's birthday last week and I need to get him a gift for that too.

Yesterday I was doing a bit of a 'reccy' and spotted the 'StarWars Cookbook' which comes not only with recipes for Wookie Cookies but also with three biscuit cutters!

I thought 'Yippee! That is a great present!' and was then bundled out of the shop as it was closing time.

On reflection I am starting to second guess myself. I love StarWars and I know my nephews like it too, perhaps not as deeply as me, but they love that Auntie Countrymel is into it and will happily play StarWars related things with them and not ask stupid questions (their Pop referred to "the little robot thing" one day and my nephew just cut him dead - "It's R2D2 Pop.... tell you what, how about I just wait till Auntie Countrymel is here. We can do something else yeah?"

Am I thinking this is a more awesome gift than it really is?

Am I letting my interests over ride their own?

Or doesn't it matter?

It is still a cool present right?

Where did you find it? I might need one of those. ph34r.gif

(And yes, coolest present ever, especially if favourite Aunt Countrymel helps make cookies right away)

My 8 year old Nephew loves Stars Wars too...but not really into cooking. Would be suprised if he can butter toast without putting holes in it. Lol

For a Starwars fan its still cool but id say is more cooking based? Would of gone with a figurine to complete a collection or a comic book. Ive found some old comics from way back in mint condition in a specialist shop which he adored.

Ah... thanks ladies.

He does like cooking and he has worked his way through the 'Mummy and Me' cookbook already.

I'm not sure if it is still his big love though as he is currently deep into his drawing - (my sister and her husband are a bit concerned - they are both scientists and they fear that their boys may be a bit too 'arty' like their no-hoping Auntie!)

It came from this terrifying shop in my little town that is just jammed - JAMMED! - to the brim with educational toys, geek stuff, collecter stuff, dress up stuff, et.al.

Tasmanians will know the shop - they give you a piece of fudge on the way in to sustain you!

THE coolest gift you could have found! Anyting that encourages Star Wars interest is a great idea (only for the three original movies though).
