I've been struggling to read my usual genre of choice lately (crime/thriller) and recently finished the Hunger Games trilogy, which I loved and couldn't put down.
What YA series have you read, loved and would recommend? I've read the Tomorrow series, Twilight series, City of Bones series and Uglies series. Thanks! |

I've recently re-read a few old favourites - the Thursday Next books by Jasper Fforde, and the Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer.
Also I have been informed in no uncertain terms by my fifteen year old cousin that Skullduggery Pleasant is 'more awesome than Harry Potter' and that I must get onto it. So there's those... |

Try Delirium by Lauren Oliver. It's a dystopian future novel based on the idea that love is a disease and is "cured" at the age of 18 with, well, basically a lobotomy. It's a trilogy but only the first 2 books are out, so be prepared for some yelling at the end of the 2nd one

I'm ashamed to admit that i both read and enjoyed the house of night series lol It's a teen vampire series be warned that its unfinished at he moment , they seem to be dragging it out ..the cynic in me says they get more money that way lol
I've also heard good things about the vampire academy series but haven't read any myself Edited to add : Just did a quick check of my bookshelves , if your into fantasy type books The Bartimaeus Trilogy is a good read as is the Eragon series...i think its called something else but can't remember off the top of my head Way younger than the young adult genre but i always loved The Rowan of Rin books by Emily Rodda And older than young adult - my favorite fantasy books are the Bitterbynde Trilogy by Cecilia Dart-Thornton - i have re-read many, many times This post has been edited by greatwon2: 13/12/2012, 09:48 AM |

Not a series but a stand alone book. Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. Simply fabulous.
I read it then recommended it to my teen daughter. She stayed up all night because she couldn't put it down. Also recommended to a 60yo friend and she was the same. |

The Divergent series by Veronica Roth is quite good. Although the first book (Divergent) is a lot better than the second. Will read the third though to see how it ends.
Not a series, but John Green is a great YA writer. |
