So we are due for our first in February!

We are 100% okay for a boys name - actually we love all of our top 3!!

But girls names are a bit more difficult..

There is one name that DH loves, and I like but don't like the spelling he wants..

We finally found a name we like:

Finlay or Finn for short (We want ocean based names)

BUT, just recently FIL and MIL have announced they are moving to a house in - you guessed it, Finlay st...

Would you still use the name?

We can't think of any other girls names we like that can be shortened to Finn.. We really don't like Fiona, and Finnigan is too boy-ish..

I once babysat a toddler named Mackenzie who lived in Mackenzie Street. No big deal really. Kind of amusing at the time, but completely irrelevant within a year or two when they moved.

You keep your name for a lifetime; your street can change. And I certainly wouldn't be influenced by the grandparent's street name.

I would definitely still use it.

Many people would not notice the correlation.

Thanks for all of the quick replies.
We know that Finlay is more commonly a boy's name, but if we wanted to use the nickname Finn, then Finlay or Finley is the most girl-able expansion we can find.
Unless the naming gurus have other suggestions??
It's more the nickname we like than the name persee..
