Did has a high fever, 38-39, no other symptoms.
I'm alternating between parasol and neurofen, and also keeping her dressed lightly - is that right regarding the clothing?

I wouldn't be giving pandol or neurofen unless her behaviour required it (ie if still happy bouncy child I will not medicate-yes my kids have been running in circles with 40+ fever). I will usually dose them at night to help their sleep (ie make them more confortable).

Depending on how they are acting and how long it has been going in and other symptoms I may be organising a Dr visit too.

Clothes I would keep light.

Eta I most often give panadol etc at 39.5+ over 39.5 is considered high fever. 38-39.5 is a mild -moderate fever

My son had a roaring temperature when he was around this age. It was explained to me (and I can't remember every fine detail about the advice, he is six now), that a high temperature is not as bad as it seems. It's suggested that their body's are behaving the way they should (fighting infection, illness). The treatment was lots of fluids, rest, keep them calm, ice.

My ds has had that twice recently. His temperature didn't ever get over 39 degrees (which is when I start to worry) and he was acting normally. I only gave neurofen/Panadol at bed time, in case it got worse overnight. Otherwise, I kept him comfortable and made sure he had some quiet times to help him recover. And kept offering him fluid. I try not to medicate with a low grade temperature as it is the body fighting infection. I only give him medication for low grade temperatures if he starts to show other symptoms (ie seems to have pain).
