Hi allI need to update my straw sippy water bottles for my two year old & almost one year old (eventually!)We currently have these munchkin ones

which are great - dishwasher safe, have a valve to prevent leaking and I am mostly happy with them but I was just wondering if anyone had any other recommendations for something nicer
Must have :- a straw that goes all the way to the bottom so you don't have to tip it to drink- be dishwasher safe- a valve so if dropped on its side in the car it doesn't leak

I've literally tried them all over the years and the best ones I've found are the Tommee Tippee Flip Top Straw Cups (here). Even my one year old can flip open the lid by herself and they don't spill!

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually have one of those but i find it will spill water if the flip lid isn't closed so when my son drops it in the car the floor of my car gets all wet. Otherwise I agree it is great!

Anyone else?

I have the Munchkin one and it leaks all the time. Everywhere. But its the easiest for DS to suck so I use it the most. He also has a Heinz Baby Basics but the water doesn't come out fast enough so he doesn't like that bottle. I have a third which doesn't have a name on it, I think maybe Nuby, but I can't remember. The straw is hidden by the top of the lid being twisted slightly, which makes it spill proof apparently. DS can still make it leak. He also just twists the lid back and forth, and when the straw has water in it, it flicks everywhere.

So, Munchkin is my favourite even though it leaks (how do you get yours to not leak?)

Doesn't sound like my ultimate drink bottle exists but thanks for the feedback

My munchkin ones when tipped upside down or on side will leak a few drops of water and then just stop and don't leak. Don't know why, but just tested it and a small amt leaks as soon as you tip it and then no more. Have left it on its side on bench top overnight to test my theory.

Maybe the valve is getting older in yours Molokai? We do have one or two that leak and their valves don't oppose properly anymore if you peer down the straw.

When she was really little she could drink it upside down or the right way up and would still get a drink as the straw is weighted. Never got frustrated at sucking on air! Also, this one you can drink from both sides as the straw sits almost in the middle at the top so it doesn't matter which way they are holding it.

It doesn't leak but may drip a bit if the lid is not on and its left upside down somehow. Ours is fairly old now, but a new one might not drip at all. However, the lid is not hard to flip, so my DD liked to open and close hers by herself. Some cups on the market are really tight to close or open.

My only negative feedback with this cup is that it doesn't hold much water and needs refilling a fair bit, especially during summer. I usually take a bottle of water for myself everywhere we go, so if there's nowhere for me to refill her cup, I just refill it with my water.

it doesn't leak, the 2 comes with a straw attachment, i've certainly put ours in the dishwasher (it does say dishwasher safe though), they convert to a tip up sippy cup, you can't easily ruin the top of the straw (it's hard plastic, so little teeth can't chew through it) and they last for ages (DD has had hers for 3 years, and it's still going strong)

I have the safe sippy ones for DS (after having the BBox cup which he liked, but started getting moldy inside the straw no matter how I cleaned it) which have lasted really well!
