Hi everyone,
I am after a bit of advice, we are wanting to buy my son a cockatiel for Christmas. He is 9 yrs old but has had to prove to us that he is capable of looking after a bird with our help of course. He has taken care of his budgie and all its maintenance for over a year now. He is wanting a male handraised cockatiel that he can hopefully train to talk etc. Finding a definite male has become quite a hard task!! We have come across a dna sexed male cockatiel that is looking for a new home. (Owners going overseas). The bird is about 18 months old, but is already talking is very calm never bites etc. Has anybody ever taken in an older bird. Is it a good idea to take in an older bird? Do you have any advice on making the transition easier on it? Thanks anglebumblebee4 |
