Hi all..I was just wondering if any of you can give me some easy lunch and snack ideas to make at home.I have been living off chicken n salad rolls but its becoming quite expensive habit. Also, roughly how much water are you consuming each day.I had a sleeve gasterectomy (3/4 of my stomach removed to lose weight) and am finding it hard to eat small portions all day (before falling pregnant i only managed 3 meals a day - size of a bread n butter plate) and ive always struggled to drink 600ml of water as it fills me right up.If you have any suggestions for anything mentioned above they will be greatly appreciated

I usually make up some tomato and lentil soup on a sunday and keep in the fridge and eat it with a toasted cheese sandwich.

I also make up some baked beans http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/24267/diy+baked+beans and eat them over the week as well - I chuck in half a cup of spinach to add some more vegetables.

I use http://thestonesoup.com/blog/ a lot for recipe inspiration. She tends to suggest easy to throw together healthy meals.

With water I can't get enough - I'm drinking between 2-3 litres a day.

Maybe you get a small bottle to keep with you. Looking at a 350ml bottle full of water may seem a little less daunting.

What about tuna on vita wheat, rice cakes with cream cheese, chicken and veg soup, homous with carrot sticks, Thai beef salad, yogurt with berries (can buy them frozen and defrost). This is the kind of thing I've been eating. I also drink a few bottles of water not much more than that.

For lunch I have tuna, cheese and salad sanga.

Peanut butter sanga and some fruit.

Or I freeze little portions of meals such as risottos, soups and reheat them for lunch.

For snacks I have fruit, yohgurt/ frozen yohgurt, veggie sticks w dip/PB/ low fat cream cheese, milo, uncle tobys crunchy museli bar, PB on toast but mostly fruit.

Hmm.. not pregnant but trying to be original.gif Today we had hummus & avocado (high fiber) wraps with grapes, yesterday was tuna melt sandwich with strawberries, tomorrow will be leftover Tuscan bean soup w/ kale (from tonight's dinner).

My new favorite lunch/snack is a Japanese salad of cucumber & carrot ribbons (manolin sliced thin), tomato wedges, and a sliced boiled egg. Dress it with a sprinkling of sushi vinegar and sesame oil. You can add sesame seeds for a bit of crunch. If it's just for snack, I leave off the egg.
