I am getting quotes to see if I can save any money on insurance and am mainly interested in companies that offer total rebuild instead of an agreed value insurance.
Currently with AAMI and have got a quote through OnePath. Anyone know of any others? I know they still estimate the rebuild costs with the details nominated, but I just feel safer with total rebuild. Our house value is very disparate to the rebuild costs since it is a huge old majorly renovated property on the side of a mountain, so on a severe slope. Thanks |

Sorry I can't help as I went with AAMI for the same reason and at the time (perhaps last year maybe 18 months ago) AAMI was the only one with this option going around. (It was also cheaper then my current provider and I upped the contents!)

When I worked for Commonwealth 3 years ago it was only something officer by themselves and AAMI - you need to confirm everything else they offer is sufficient as CBA for instance don't cover some types of flood etc...

You could always see a broker, that way you have more markets to access?

Thanks. Commbank doesn't seem to anymore. I always read the PDS etc (former bank employee as well, so I know the loopholes that can happen). You could always see a broker, that way you have more markets to access? I had not thought of this! Will look into as well. |

You could always see a broker, that way you have more markets to access? I wouldn't bother. We used a broker when we moved interstate and they couldn't get a better deal or a company that would agree to cover us when our settlement date fell during a cyclone watch. We're with AAMI because they would cover us at the time. Back then they didn't do total rebuild. |
