DD3 (3.5) and I missed breakfast. Her because she refused it, me because of the usual bum fight to get the others to school. We then had to sit through an hour performance at school. By this stage we were both hungry but had to travel to the shops. My this stage she was putting on an Oscar winning performance of an emancipated child, complete with stomach clutching, moaning and collapsing onto the floor. The closest thing that sold anything resembling food was a McD's cafe. So at 1030am, 3.5 yr old sitting up to maccas chips and me chilling to a hot chocolate. Cue whispered comments of "how could she" yada yada yada wink.gif

Less then hour later we were in the supermarket and she was, unsurprisingly given the "as nutritious as the packaging" food she ate, hungry. "Mum, can I pleeeassse have some beans?" Sure. So here is 3.5 yr old, happily munching on raw, green string beans.(pre weighed and paid for;)) Cue, "Oh wow! how on earth does she get her kids to do that" yada yada yada.

So you see, it is only a matter of timing on what judgement you may lay on another person. A 10 second snap shot gives little evidence as to what type of person/parent/human being they really are.

That is all biggrin.gif

People really whispered in Maccas?

I go there with my two all the time, even give a fry or two to DS, and nobody ever looks twice.

edit: Not literally ALL the time, obviously...

We were not in Maccas as such, it was a food hall type set up where the only choices were dounuts, muffins or Maccas.. Also, I have no idea if they whispered, I am oblivious to that type of thing, I was using that for illustrative purposes only wink.gif

If only we could remind the rest of the world that you shouldn't judge a parent on a seconds-long glimpse into their life! There's always more to the story.

You'd get the same image at my house. I've managed to convince the twins that peas and parsley out of the garden are actually lollies and they eat them like crazy....but have also been known on many occasion to feed them a happy meal.

Actually the worst one was while on route to Auckland from Taupo in NZ, we'd left the kids sandwiches on the bench at my Mum's house and didn't notice until it was time for lunch. Of course the kids were acting like their last meal was three months prior and the closest thing was KFC....I have to admit to sneaking in there and sneaking out all secret squirrel like, not because anyone was judging me but because I was judging myself...hard!

Dd3's favorites are peas and cherry tomatoes straight from the vine. Coupled with the cucumbers and beans, we don't harvest much from the garden over summer laughing2.gif
