I reached the six week mark only yesterday and today, for the first time, I had horrible nausea all day!

Strangely, I found that if I ate until I was absolutely stuffed, I felt much better!
Not the best strategy for a healthy weight gain over the next nine months!

Assuming that this will continue for some time over the next few weeks, I thought I might ask you all if you have any great tips for alleviating nausea. Your wisdom is much appreciated!

Thanks original.gif

Today was my first blah day. Slept most of the day on the couch and mil looked after the boys.

I generally lose weight in the first 12-20 weeks due to severe morning sickness. Have been admitted with both sons.

Anything rich in vitamin b will help morning sickness. If that doesnt help ask your doc for a script of maxalon. I had moring sickness for my entire pregnancy with DD so basically lived off the stuff.

Ive had morning sickness since just before I found out I was pregnant at four weeks!! IT SUCKS!! Ive found that eating till your stuffed helps me too original.gif haven't even put on a kilo yet so I hope that makes you feel better!!...

I also take bickies to work, just shapes or rice crackers or something and have one or two as soon as I start feeling a bit yuck - it seriously worked a treat today and I was feeling normal by 2pm original.gif pressing on a spot on your wrist helps too... I tried finding sea sickness wrist bands but no luck yet...

I really hope some of these things help!! Its seriously been trial and error the last 3 weeks for me!!... Can't wait to see if there are any more tips original.gif

You can get a script for Maxalon from the dr.. if these don't work they can prescribe Zofran. They can almost be guaranteed to work.. but they aren't cheap. Also, blackmores has a morning sickness formula tablet that's rich in vitamin b that you can buy from the chemist.

Oh girls I hear you !!!!

I have been very sick for over a week now , I can't keep anything down not even water, I spent 6 hours in the Ed on Sunday and they had to give me 2 bags of fluid they gave me maxalon too but I don't think it is helping me that much so I just made an appointment with a gp to see what else I can do.

You poor thing, I know how you feel, I had morning sickness for most of my pregnancy (mainly constant nausea, with occasional vomiting).

I practically lived on crackers, fruit and dry toast. And yes, they say it helps to keep snacking constantly, and don't let your tummy get empty or get hungry. I definitely found that.

There was nothing that really "relieved" it as such, but I just tried to keep to pretty bland foods, and try to keep hydrated, even if you just sip water all day.

I tried ginger, motion sickness wristbands, Vitamin B, but nothing really helped much.

I was too scared to take any medication for it, and thought they probably wouldn't give it to me anyway because I was mainly just nauseous, not throwing up. The thing is though that I normally felt better if I did throw up! Go figure.

I hope that helps a bit, good luck, hope it eases soon.

Great tips, thanks ladies. I like the vitamin B one - I'll take some vegemite crackers to work with me tomorrow and see how that goes.

Beth E - I guess they mightn't give me any medication either since mine is just nausea too (so far!)
Littlepip - That wrist pressure point is a weird one. I heard that if you strap a dried kidney bean to that particular spot on your wrist it can help you. Not sure how I'd explain that one at work! (new fashion accessory!?)

Think I'll try to get some Maxalon before I go overseas in 2 weeks - I imagine it will be quite difficult to get that sort of thing in Japan when I speak no Japanese :-s

Thanks again for the tips - If i discover anything brilliant I will certainly share!
