Just a quick question - particularly for the charters in here - how many days before O'ing would you start getting EWCM?

I'm not using opk's or taking temp, but started getting EWCM yesterday (CD 12) & even more so today.

I have a couple of apps with one saying ov is probably the 12th (CD 15), the other more the 15th (CD 18), while the EB app is saying most fertile on 12th, 13th & 14th.

Going to try & BD as much as possible, but just wondering if presence of EWCM can help pinpoint O more accurately?

I generally O on day 3 of ewcm

It's different for everyone. Some women get a week of EWCM, some women get two days and some don't get any, and might just get watery. It can differ from month to month for some (does for me).

Also, some women "dry up" on the day of O.

I think as with anything it can take a few months of getting to know your body and its individual signs to pinpoint what's normal for you

I differ from month to month, however will roughly get 1-2 days sticky, 2-3 days of creamy and eggwhite. Sometimes even longer.

Give it a few months to learn your body better. And remember each month may vary in amounts.

I can see it does vary a bit, but all reasonably similar each month. I am guessing it is probably more likely that I'll O on the 12th rather than as late as the 15th. Will just have to wear DH out!!


Thanks for the advice everyone - thought it could be different for each person, but was hoping some similarities may help. I'll have to keep an eye on how my body works

Some women have 6+ days, some have only one day where they see a tiny bit. Either way, having sex on the days when it's present means that the sperm are being kept alive ready for ovulation. So keep up the BD!

Good to know! I am now on my fourth day! I can't remember having it this long before, but also have only being TTC since last month. Lot more BDing than we have done before TTC, so maybe my body has recognised this & is thinking "Yeah, this is what we've been waiting for!!!" Ha ha...

Just to confuse you a little, semen can look a lot like EWCM to the untrained eye. It can take up to two days to come out.

This confused me for a few months until I worked out the subtle differences.

I did read that & checked the other day & definitely was EWCM - but haven't checked today, so thanks for the reminder! Might not even be EWCM today, which may mean I've O'd - yay!
