Birth and OB advice for Canberra newcomer

Hi all, This is my first post on EB. I'm looking for some information to help me decide on a hospital for the birth of my first baby. I see this is a question that is often asked, but I would like some more up-to-date information now that the new wards have opened at TCH and Calvary. I'd also really appreciate some PMs on OBs. I've just found out I'm pregnant. DH and I will be moving from Sydney to Canberra in March or April. I grew up in Canberra, but haven't lived there for 11 years. We're planning to live in the Inner North, but I'm happy to drive further for best quality of care. I have PHI and love the idea of a private room and of DH being able to stay the night. I'd also prefer not to be kicked out the door too soon. I'd like to be able to move around during the birth, but I would also like to be able to ask for an epi or other pain relief if needed. What else? I'm in my late 30s, have mild lupus and PCOS and will also require a cerclage, so I may end up considered a high-risk pregnancy. Does anyone have a good idea of what may suit my requirements in Canberra? Also, I would definitely appreciate recommendations of a good, caring OB by PM. I've heard you need to book in very early in Canberra. I'm really looking forward to coming home and will be so happy to have my baby there!

So far I've had one OB recommendation by PM, for which I'm very grateful, but does anyone have anything to say about the new Centenary Hospital for Women and Children vs the new private set up at Calvary. I'm sure those kinds of posts are fine to be written here.

My DS1 was born at Calvary Private Hospital and the midwives there were excellent. I wasn't as happy with the hospital stay afterwards but I certainly can't complain about the the great care that I received during the birth. I don't know anything about the Centenary Hospital for Women and Children though.
