We have less than 3 weeks to go until our due date and I'm still struggling with boys names! We had a girl's name picked out before we even conceived but boys names have been really tricky!! We have 2 boys names on our list, both I don't mind but I'm not that crazy about them either. DH really likes one of them though so that's the one I'm leaning towards if we can't come up with anything else!

Has anyone else had this problem?? We don't know the gender and I'm really worried that if its a boy, I'm just going to name him this name I'm not that excited about just because we can't come up with something else! The problem is also that a few years ago I loved this name and wouldn't have thought twice about using it but now it doesn't seem right!

Maybe the reason we can't come up with a boys name is because we're having a girl anyway?? It would make it 100 times easier if it is a girl because then I wouldn't have to worry!

Did anyone else have trouble choosing names for one particular gender? What did you end up having?

We had the same problem and knew we were having a boy! We ended up in the final week coming up with a couple we liked. Then waited for him to be born and chose his name. It felt much easier to decide once I had him in my arms.

We still hadn't decided as we drove to hospital as I laboured at 42 weeks. She was named an hour after birth.

We waited 10 days to name our second. We had a few names picked out but none suited and we went with a name we hadn't thought of before. I adore his name and so glad we waited.

With my first, we had a name picked out but when he arrived I wasn't sure. Unfortunately dh just went ahead and told everyone and because it was what we had decided, and I didn't have anything else in mind, I went along with it. Second time around, I insisted we wait to meet baby before deciding. Although I like our first's name, I don't love it and not sure it suits him. I'm a big fan of waiting until you meet the baby.

ETA I found girl's names far easier but ended up with two boys.

Both of ours were nameless for a week! We had a list of names but were still umming about them after the birth. We are having number 3 early next year and we don't even have a list yet so I'm guessing this one will be nameless for a while as well! But I prefer meeting bub first anyways, just to see whether the names we like fit their little faces. Good luck, bet in the end you'll find the most perfect name for your little one!

yep.... DS was nameless till 3 days after we came home from hosputal.... LOL so he was 5 days old. And we drew a name out of a hat of the ones we liked and then DD didnt like it and wanted to name him something different. So not only did DS not have a name for 5 days but after he was given a name DD changed it!! LOL

It took us 6 days to name our DS and 4 to name DD.

I asked for help on here in the naming forum which did help.

Do you have a particular style you like, modern, classic, unusual but not uneek, particular ethnicity?
Maybe start from a style you like and see what comes up on some naming websites or post on the forum here.

My youngest wasn't named till she was 10 days old. We had names, just couldn't agree or decide which on which one.

4 months on and in still not sure on her name

There's no rush, you have 60 days to name your baby. I do get how frustrating it is though.

For me I find it hard to name girls, but only cause I have 3 of them, lol.

Oh, these replies aren't making me feel any better! I really don't want a nameless baby for days! I'm just hoping that if it is a boy, he just looks like one of the names we have chosen! I really don't want to have to be trying to think up new names at the hospital!
