As the title says....

I always thought my mum was a bit of a PITA making us wear shoes every time we got on our bikes.
Then I found out that a relative chopped his big toe off in his bicycle pedal when he was 5 - I had always thought it was his chain.

yup, my kids have to wear closed shoes on their bikes...I'm not too keen on the idea of having to stick toes in bags! Also, pedals are bloody uncomfortable!

I severely injured by big toe when it was caught in the spokes of my bicycle whilst riding barefoot as a child. So yes my children always wear shoes when riding a bike.

I can be fairly relaxed about a lot of things when it comes to the kids but I DO insist on shoes (and helmet) when they are riding bikes or scooters.

Yes always also on the scooter and skate board too.

I insist on full shoes no thongs, sandals, open toes.

I nearly ripped a toe off as a child so even though DS is a few years off I think shoes when riding is somethig I'll try to make sure happens!
