Yesterday we brought home a third canine to join our family.

He was surrendered to AWL as an abandoned dog.

He is wonderful!

We have now set up his own FB page to raise awareness, and to show how much an animal's life can change with someone to love.

Link for anyone interested.

He is truly lovely.

Not to mention smart and very well trained. Our theory is that some tragedy befell his original owner, he was passed to another who did not care and he ended up abandoned and starving. Neighbours surrendered him which is why some history is known.

But honestly, he is absolutely wonderful...

He's gorgeous. wub.gif

I know there's a lot of people who prefer known breeders and known genetics, but the little gems that can be found in rescue can just shine so brightly if they're given the chance.

Awesome! He looks really happy and seems to be settling in well.

We got our cat from the AWL over eight years ago now, she had been abandoned twice and was lucky enough to get picked up from the AWL both times (even if the first family brought her back after two years). Apart from being a bit skittish around men and really clingy and distressed if we take her out of the house, she has been an amazingly happy cat. She is so full of personality and we think she likes us too (except she didn't count on us being vegetarian so she couldn't steal from our plates).

Definitely would recommend getting a rescue animal.

Totally settled. A part of the family already. original.gif Gets along really well with the other 2 dogs, of which one is also a rescue dog.

He is going to use his page to promote animal welfare and rescue dogs in general.

He already has quite a few followers in just over 12 hours!
