Hi we are currently TTC #2 but AF is all over the place!
Just wondering how long it took others? Was AF regular or not? If not what did you do to help conceive?
I used to know my body before having my DS now it's all over the place!

TIA

It took 4 cycles to conceive number 2. My cycles were actually regular when they first came back (when DS was 9 months old) even though they were not regular before pregnancy. but then as soon as we started trying they were irregular again!

I was charting my temp to give me an idea of when I'd ovulated so I knew when to expect AF for the first 3 cycles then started using OPKs for the 4th cycle (and fell pregnant that cycle).

For what it's worth, it took 3 cycles but the same length of time (4 months) to fall pregnant the first time, and I just charted then, no OPKs.

Good luck!

Took 2 weeks from thinking about it to a positive pregnancy test with the twins. I was very surprised! I had very regular cycles since DS finished bfing but wasn't tracking temps or ovulation.
Just lucky I guess.

With DS I conceived first try. However, we have been trying for eight months for number 2.

Good luck and I hope you get a bfp soon :-)

Hi, With my first we tried for 3 months and fell pregnant. With the second though it took 12 months. My period came back 13 months after bub was born and 5 months after i finished BF. My cycle was had a very short luteal phase and I started temping. When nothing happened after 6 months of trying I went to see an acupuncturist her gave me herbs and accupuncture fortnightly. It seemed to help my cycle length but I still didn't fall until 12 months after I started trying. Oh and we didn't start trying for number 2 until my DD1 was 3 yrs old.

Good luck.

TTC #1 took us a year. Had a miscarriage after 7 months of TTC, then fell pregant with DD1 exactly one year after we started trying.

Fell pregnant with #2 when DD1 was 6 months old and fully breastfed and I hadn't even one period yet huh.gif

You just never can predict what's going to happen can you?! Good luck OP, I found OPK's helped SO much when trying to pinpoint ovulation when TTC with #1. And also once you know when you're ovulating, I found SMEP to be helpful too original.gif

I have long irreg cycles (35-69+ days).

OPKs were my friend. Internet heavies and start testing from CD12 until I get OPKS positive.

DS1 was 3 cycles. dS2 first cycle, DD 5-6 cycles.

I fell pregnant with DD second month off the pill (been on pill for 10yrs straight) but now we have been TTC#2 for 4.5yrs. We have done IVF with no luck...there might be a light at the end of the tunnel though as I had a lap in October to remove severe endometriosis. Now we are preparing for a FET IVF so fingers crossed this is our month finally!!

Never thought #2 would take so long considering DD was so easy and naturally conceived!

Good luck OP!
