Which iPhone - black or white?, Worried about the white showing marks

I'm about to upgrade to the iPhone5. I've had both the 3 and the 4 in black and am thinking of getting the white this time. One thing that concerns me with the white is that it could show dirt and marks. Has anyone found that happening?

No, you just get a clear cover for it so that the phone is protected from dirt/scratches.

Ive only ever had white iphones and never had an issue with dirt & marks. My phones are always in cases to protect the glass. In all the times ive dropped it its never shattered. Go white

The white is pretty. My 4s is white and I love it. I have a clear cover on it to protect it, but I'd ever have a smartphone without a protective cover.

I have a white iPhone and iPad and don't have any issues with them looking dirty they are both in cases with screen protectors on the front

I've got white, no issues with it showing marks or dirt. It has a clear sticker cover to protect screen and an xtreme cover that goes over the back of it.

Choose white and get a cover. It took me ages to get a cover for my phone and I don't have a mark or scratch on it. My friend bought me a cover on ebay which cost $3.00 new.

I've always had black. This time I went white because the black I bought first was a bit scratched out of the box and silver shows through the sides. The coating is easier to scratch even without meaning to and I imagine it would start looking shabby after a while. My friend has had a black since launch day in a cover but somehow dirt/grit has got between the cover and phone and it has a couple of hair line silver scratches on the sides. The scratches don't show as much on white. I've not come across a white 4/4S that is dirty regardless of age so I'm not worried about that. I actually still prefer the look of black but as someone who sells once a year to upgrade, I don't want it looking old and scratched up.
