Bit of a hypothetical....planning for the future:)
If my family income and XH's family income are both over the $168k (or whatever it currently is), do we both need to have private health insurance to avoid the Medicare surcharge? If I have them covered, but he doesn't, would he pay the surcharge? Or vice versa? |

The question is 'are you and all your dependents covered by private health insurance' if you answer no, then you get hit with the surcharge.
So either you or your Ex could be paying for the kids as long as someone is. |

So between us we could have one single policy and one family policy, and pay half of the whole lot each? And neither of us would pay the surcharge?
