I've been reading the over 35 and dress like a mum thread (I fit into all the categories) and need some help with getting some nice casual shoes that don't cost the earth. I've only recently had baby so won't be buying many new clothes until I finish BF but want to get some new shoes
I currently wear my cons or sneakers (apparently these aren't a good look) or a pair of colorado pull ons (that need replacing) Any good suggestions for flatish shoes to wear with pants/jeans/top that aren't really expensive. I actually prefer leather as my feet sweat quite a bit but happy with any other suggestions/stores to buy. |

Ballet Flats are great
I know you said you would prefer leather but you can pick up some reasonably cheap ones as well. http://www.theiconic.com.au/women/shoes/flats/ballet-flats/ or try these - so comfy... https://www.walnutmelbourne.com/ballet-flat...leather-elastic HTH |

It is impossible to find shoes at regular retailers or on-line. Why do manufacturers insist on thinking that longer sized feet are the same width as shorter feet? |

There is a moccasin style out now that look really good with pants, but I wouldn't wear them with a skirt, I have seen them at Wittners they were about $100 but are $50 at the moment. I grabbed myself a pair and I love them.

What's wrong with Cons?
I alternate between thongs, ballet flats and diesel trainers. |

Spare a thought for those with wide size 11 feet! It is impossible to find shoes at regular retailers or on-line. Why do manufacturers insist on thinking that longer sized feet are the same width as shorter feet? Try shoebuy.com I've got a super skinny foot and they have a range of shoes in all sizes and widths. I like the Naturalizer brand. |

I buy most of my casual sandal/thong type shoes from Novo. They are all synthetic though, not leather but I can almost always find a pair I like and they are cheap.
I alternate between sandal/thongs, skate shoes, cons and runners for most days of the week. I live in leather motorcycle type boots in winter, love them. I am a mum of 2 and still in my 20's, but from some of the things I have read on EB now I'm getting worried about looking like mutton dressed as lamb when I hit my 30's |

I wear Docs boots most of the time, cost a bit but last forever.
Apart from that I have some wonderfully comfortable nice looking bargains from the Diana Ferari factory outlet and the Rivers factory outlet respectively. I reckon they might last forever too. |

i can't wear heels (hurt my back) or ballet flats (they never fit properly) - i live in birkenstocks - though that said i am no fashion guru and don't really care what anyone thinks of me wearing them every day
