I didnt weigh myself until ages after having my first bub so I have no idea how much all of that amniotic fluid etc weighed.

I really want to buy a nice dress (thats not baggy maternity wear) to wear at christmas time so im trying to work out approx how much I will weigh after I have had my baby so I can work out roughly what size I will be.

Did you weigh yourself before and a few days after having your baby?

How much did you lose straight away in amniotic fluid etc? How much did your bub weigh?

I would go for the size you were pre pregnancy or a size up for comfort if you feel you have put a little of weight on and maybe think of easy breastfeeding access, you dont want to have to exclude yourself to get undressed to feed.

I was 10kg lighter the day I come out of hospital than just before I fell pregnant. No idea how it happened but I was pretty impressed. DD2 was 4.4kg

I lost 10 kgs within a week of giving birth for both of my two babies.

First baby weighed 3.6 kgs and I put on 7 kgs in pregnancy.
Second baby weighed 3.58 kgs and I put on 12 kgs in pregnancy.

Wow thats such a huge difference! I wonder why? Were you carrying more fluid, like you had puffy feet etc with your first daughter?

I gained 26 kgs in my second pregnancy despite barely eating or keeping food down. I weighed myself 4 days after birth and I had lost a massive 3kg!!!!! Baby weighed 3.4kg and I had heaps of amniotic fluid (as measured by dr and then I gushed for about 5 hours, you could see my bump was smaller after my waters broke) - I don't even know how that's possible! Hope you don't copy me.

I remember weighing myself in labour and I was 12kg lighter and 3kg above pre preg weight a week later. Bubs was 3.3kg.

It was another week before the bloatiness went down though and even though 4 months later I'm back to pre preg weight, clothes just fit differently.

Maybe a wrap dress or a style with room to adjust would be a good option. There's a black short sleeve Seraphine dress I bought from queen bee that I wore during pregnancy that I still wear now, it's really cute on.

One week after giving birth I weighed the exact same as 2 days before I went into labour. Despite my ds being 3.9kg. I had such bad swelling and was so uncomfortable. By 2 week post birth I had lost a massive 14kgs!
