I have a strapless dress that I want to wear to a work function tomorrow. I do own a strapless bra (I am about a C cup) but it is very uncomfortable and tomorrow it is going to be 37 degree outdoor heat and the strapless bra just makes me feel constricted and uncomfortable and sweaty! I tried the dress on WITHOUT the bra and it looks fine - there is some minor built-in support around the bust area of the dress and some sticky elastic to help it stay up.

Do you think it would be okay to wear it without a bra? I feel as though you can't really notice anyway...

This got me thinking though, when do you think it is OK to go braless? Do you ever not wear a bra in public, and for what circumstances? I offen go braless with certain outfits that are quite supportive on their own but am starting to feel a bit weird about it as I am getting older...

Just curious as to your thoughts, as frivolous as it seems! biggrin.gif

For certain dresses I will go without, ones where a bra can be seen easily and so on. For this reason, though, I often choose ones that I can wear a bra with - two pregnancies, even without breastfeeding, have left me with a droopy chest sad.gif

I'd need a picture to judge sorry.

It sounds ok but I'm of the view that ladies of a certain age should always wear a bra - call me old fashioned. original.gif

If you think the dress has enough support, then go for it.

I never ever go out in public without a bra on. My breasts are just too big (FF cup) and I need the support. That, and after having three kids and breastfeeding them, they look like 'sand in sock' boobs.
Once upon a time I was a lovely 'C' cup and I could get away with going bra-less.

I guess it depends on the dress - but I don't think I would with a C cup. A or B would probaby be ok. Can you get a bra with see-through straps?

And yes - I do go braless in public original.gif Generally in the middle of winter when I have a huge jacket on - so not really noticable.

I'm a double E so if I was to go braless, I think the response would be EE!

As a C cup, the world is your oyster. Wear a bra or don't. Gravity is on your side.

I do it all the time. My requirements are:
- Can't see the outline of nipple
- My boob shape looks fine and not saggy
- There is no way the dress can fall down
If I am worried about gapoing necklines and glimpse of boob, I wear double sided fashion tape to hold the garment up.

I think you would be okay to go bra-less. Maybe get some nipple shields from somewhere like bras n things if you're paranoid in that regard.

IMO Strapless bra straps are tacky sad.gif

Pre-baby I had a maxi dress with a sort of built in tight bodice thing which was the only thing I've ever been able to wear without a bra.

Post baby and still BF'ing I can't even go to bed without a crop top on now sad.gif

Yes you can go braless only if:

1. There is no prominent nipple display
2. There is very little jiggling
