This may or may not be a stupid question.
I want to get a full body spray tan next week. I am white and have lots of veins appearing and think having a tan may make me feel a little better about myself (I've been a little down in the dumps about my appearance lately). I am nearly 21 weeks and obviously wouldn't consider it if it was dangerous for the baby. So WDYT? Do you think a salon spray tan would be safe while pregnant? |

I have been wondering this aswell, before I was pregnant I got regular spray tans then when I found out I stopped. There is a company over East than specialise in natural fake tanning products maybe check them out.

My OB said that 1 or 2 while pregnant is OK, but that she would prefer her patients not use spray on ans, self tanning creams/lotions or solarium's while pregnant. A small amount of fake tan on the legs during summer is OK.
So from that, I wouldn't have a full body tan at all. Maybe just get a nice natural self-tan product and put it on your legs if you really need to. If you're feeling down about yourself - why not splurge and go and get your hair/makeup done, get a mani/pedi or a nice facial or some other spa treatment? xox |

If you're feeling down about yourself - why not splurge and go and get your hair/makeup done, get a mani/pedi or a nice facial or some other spa treatment? I'm getting my makeup done and getting a mani Thanks, I am feeling uncomfortable and whoever said you glow and hair looks good during pregnancy either lied or my body didn't get the memo, I'm blotchy, pimply and my hair is dry and lifeless. But baby is completely worth it. I might just use a shimmer instead? I have freckly skin and used to have spray tans to under emphasise them and no freckles on my legs so they look lily white compared to them. If I was white all over I wouldn't care! I don't want to wear stockings, because they're hot and restricting and I'm wearing open toed (small heeled) shoes. |

I think it took until about 25 weeks for my skin to mostly clear up - although I still get break outs! It is worth it though.... I think a nice shimmery bronzer across your décolletage and a little on your arms and legs would have a much nicer effect than a spray tan anyway :-) My other concern with a spray tan would be the smell! I was getting my nails done today and when they even opened the door to the spray tan room it made me gag. Can't image standing in there and having the stuff sprayed on me! |
