I am due to go back to work soon, and am weaning DS (3 months) onto formula. DS has always been a large eater, requiring formula straight from birth to cover his needs, and is now above the 90th percentile for height and weight.

Whilst breastfeeding I was eating like a horse...Which is about the same as I was eating whilst pregnant, to be honest. I put on a huge amount of weight, but have now lost all bar 8 kg.

Now that I'm weaning him though, I'm really struggling with not eating as much as I have done. And I have definitely stopped losing weight. I'm in that horrible, "Can't fit into most of my pre-pregnancy clothes, but am damned if I'm going to get out my maternity clothes" stage. And I can't wear the majority of my maternity clothes to work, as they consist of nothing but stretched out t-shirts and PJ bottoms that doubled as shorts (high fashion stakes in FNQ). Ugh. sad.gif

So, how can I curb my appetite now that my body doesn't need the extra calories? I am NOT giving up and buying a new wardrobe of clothes! I'm far to shallow to admit defeat yet!

HEEEELLLLPPPPP!!!!!

I have been trying to cut down on the snacking and the picking at the baby's meal. Now I make one meal for the both of us, on the large size for a meal I would normally make for myself. DS gets to eat his fill, and I get to eat the rest.

I find that having a proper meal stops me from raiding the pantry for chocolate and nuts, and because there are lots of not particularly exciting finger foods in the meal for DS, I don't feel the need to eat as much because it's tasty.

I still get hungry, but I'm trying to remind myself that I don't need to eat large amounts just because I'm used to it.

Okay, I just read that your baby is 3 months, so my advice is pretty useless!

However, I think you'll find that once you're back at work you'll be so busy that you won't have time to eat as much during the day.
